February 12-16 - Sun Valley, Idaho
Well it was sunny....... No snow, steep downhills with icy faces, trees were too close together to really get into any unspoiled powder. The place is huge tough. With 2 feet of pow-pow, that place would rock. We made the best of it with Dave's dad and his wife Linda. Not much more to say. I love that Dave's dad at age 67 skis all day, no matter what the conditions. He'd put some of our CA friends to shame.
I got to skate ski on the third day, man I suck. I should stick with downhill and x-country until I get a lesson. I have no idea what Dave did for two hours but since he lost the wedding ring the weekend before in Cabo, I suppose anything could happen.
We stayed in Sun Valley Village at the Atelier condos but I would stay in Ketchum next time for sure. There are some cool pubs and restaurants there. We ate at Ciro (Italian) and the Ketchum Grill. both of which were excellent but Ciro was the standout for sure. We actually ate there twice during the trip, now that I think about it.
