OK party people! Here are the start of the details for the 20th anniversary event. I know a few of you are like me and like to get airline tickets reeeeaaaaallllllly early -- and have something to look forward to for a few months. So here you go.
Milan /Venice/? - 9/21 until 9/27
We got our airline tickets and are arriving in Milan on 9/21 and will stay till 9/23.
Our parents arrive in Venice 9/23 and we are all staying there until 9/26.
The night of 9/26 is still a wild card based on weather and what not. Note we are taking the train from Venice to Naples (and likely a shuttle to Positano).
Positano - 9/27 until 10/2
Welcome Party 9/29
Anniversary Dinner 9/30
Positano is worthy of a few days to do nothing but swim in the sea, but there is also:
Capri, Sorrento, Amalfi day trips
Ruins of Pompeii
Bus to any of the surrounding towns then walk back on the coastal trails
Boat to lunch at Da Adolfo
Bus or walk up to Nocelle for dinner
Sicily - 10/2 until 10/9
Fly or train from Naples to Catania then on to Taormina to stay 3 nights at the Villa Astoria.
There are day trips to Mount Etna, wine tasting, gorgeous beaches, ruins in Taormina, lovely hikes around the city……it really is a special place.
Then train or bus to Palermo for 4 nights.
From here there are awesome surrounding cities to visit, more ruins, more beaches, and generally great things to eat and drink. Sicily will make you question your life choices - in a good way.
